Position Overview The primary purpose of the position is to provide strategic leadership and oversight for the Defense Civilian Training Corps (DCTC) program. The DCTC Project Director will ensure the program aligns with university objectives and defense training requirements. This role involves supervising the DCTC Project Coordinator, managing day‑to‑day operations, and collaborating with key stakeholders to maximize the program's effectiveness and impact.

Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; Occasional evenings or weekends may be required.

The Office of the Vice Provost for Engagement and Outreach provides strategic leadership for campus operations and facilitates connections between campus‑engaged scholars and the broader community. The VPEO oversees the Extended Campus (Distance Education and Extended Learning), and Office of Career Services and Experiential Learning and connects the university's engagement, extended learning, and outreach into a cohesive and strategic program to serve its local, regional, national and global communities.

Minimum Requirements

A Master's degree in Education, Business Administration, or a related field is required.

At least five years of program management experience, ideally in higher education, defense, military training, or related fields.

Proven leadership experience, along with strong strategic planning, communication, and problem‑solving skills.

Proficiency in project management and financial tools, and experience in grant writing, management, and budgeting.

Experience in leading complex programs and supervisory experience, and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.

Preferred Qualifications

At least seven years of program management experience (PMP preferred), ideally in higher education, defense, military training, or related fields.

All preferred, meet the minimum requirements.

Required License or Certification NC Driver's License
