Job Summary The RMD team is looking for a
Principal Systems Engineer
to support the Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) department. The MDS department provides subject matter expertise for concept development, architectural design, requirements generation & flow‑down, modeling and simulation, systems analysis, integration, test and evaluation of world‑class Missile Defense & Sensor Systems.
Responsibilities
Analyzing radar system performance data with respect to requirements.
Identifying performance deficiencies and proposing solutions.
Defining and prototyping new algorithms to enhance system performance.
Presenting plans, designs and system performance to peers, internal leadership and external customers.
Providing subject matter expertise to agile software development teams to ensure proper implementation of requirements.
Capability Areas
Electronic Protection, signal processing, applied mathematics.
Hypersonic threat defense.
Tracking, discrimination, search, and battle manager interfaces.
Radar calibration, diagnostics, deployed site support.
Modeling and simulation of tactical software.
Qualifications You Must Have
Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 8 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent.
U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain U.S. government‑issued security clearance (Secret).
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with BMC4I systems, radar systems or signal processing techniques.
Experience with developing, documenting and maintaining processes, methods and tools.
Ability to develop technical solutions to complex issues.
Experience working with Matlab, C/C++, Java or DOORS.
Analytic, technical and problem‑solving skills.
Experience with MS Office Suite.
Experience with system‑level requirements development, documentation and maintenance and/or requirements development and design of system‑level software architecture.
Experience with radar system concepts; detection, discrimination, track and signal processing algorithms and their behaviors and performance.
Experience with the development and coding of system models, algorithms, test vectors and analysis tools in support of analyzing radar requirements and performance.
Interest in Information Assurance/Cyber Engineering requirements, determination, development and implementation.
Experience in using AI/ML and signal processing in database and algorithm design and enhancement.
Previous military service.
Ability to interface with customers and lead technical solutions to complex user needs.
Active DoD Secret clearance or greater.
