WSP is looking for talented individuals to join our team as a Senior Consultant to support the company’s growing Sustainability, Energy and Climate Change division. This position could be based at one of WSP’s offices in Portland, OR; Chicago, IL; Boston, MA; Buffalo, NY; New York, NY; Greensboro, NC; Bethlehem, PA; San Francisco, CA; San Diego, CA; Arlington, VA; or Boulder, CO. Other locations can be arranged for an exceptional candidate. The individual will work with our Climate, Resilience and Sustainability Team and help clients meet their objectives through sustainability programs.

Responsibilities

Lead client‑facing teams in the design, management, and reporting of product and organizational sustainability programs in the electronics and technology business sectors, focusing on Life Cycle Assessments (LCA).

Lead delivery of electronics LCA projects from start to finish, including:

Researching and collecting life cycle inventory data, performing quality assurance, and developing new datasets to fill data gaps.

Modeling in software platforms such as

LCA For Experts

(formerly GaBi), SimaPro, GREET, and openLCA.

Developing product life‑cycle assessments to calculate impacts such as GHG emissions, energy use, water use, consumption and scarcity, waste, and other environmental impacts.

Producing screening‑level and ISO‑conformant reports, comparative and non‑comparative analyses, and presentations based on LCAs.

Producing Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), eco‑passports/profiles, and LCA background reports per relevant Product Category Rules (PCRs) and the EU Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) methodology.

Research opportunities to reduce environmental impacts in the life cycle of a product or service.

Produce sustainability reports, disclosures, and other communications.

Develop and maintain data management systems and business intelligence tools.

Support business development activities with existing and prospective clients.

Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.

Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, energy, sustainability, or an environmental discipline.

Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in product sustainability and LCA consulting in the electronics and technology sectors.

Experience with developing ISO 14040 and ISO 14044‑conformant LCA reports.

Familiarity with the product design process, manufacturing, supply chain management, circular economy principles, and methods of reducing waste.

Well‑developed interpersonal skills, maturity, credibility, confidence, and integrity.

Strong oral and written communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Word and PowerPoint.

Ability to develop and present analyses using Microsoft Excel, Access, and Power BI.

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks iteratively, and manage time efficiently.

Ability to collaborate remotely across geographies and platforms.

Proven record of upholding workplace safety and abiding by WSP’s health, safety, and harassment policies.

Occasional travel may be required depending on project‑specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in engineering, energy, sustainability, or an environmental discipline.

Experience using LCA software and methodologies such as LCA For Experts, SimaPro, openLCA, and GREET.

Experience with ISO standards relevant to LCA (14040, 14044, 14025, 14046, 14064, 14067).

Experience with other sector areas such as food and beverage, agriculture, apparel/textiles, and construction products.

Experience with EPDs and the PEF methodology.

Familiarity with emerging circularity standards and their application to LCA.

Familiarity with water footprinting, water stress and scarcity methodologies such as AWARE.

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): $74,200 – $150,590

WSP reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range based on education, experience, and other factors.

Expected Salary (Colorado only): $74,200 – $141,350
