Pediatric Occupational Therapist Responsibilities

Help children enhance sensory processing, fine and gross motor skills, emotional regulation, and independence.

Conduct assessments and devise individualized occupational therapy plans for pediatric patients.

Collaborate with therapists from diverse specialties to develop effective strategies for each child’s unique needs.

Requirements

Master’s (MS) and/or Clinical Doctorate (OTD) degree in occupational therapy.

Valid California Occupational Therapist license.

At least 1 year of experience in pediatric occupational therapy (preferred).

Ongoing participation in continuing education as required by Occupational Therapy governing bodies.

Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and clients.

Current membership in the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) or Occupational Therapy Association of California (OTAC) is appreciated.

Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge of rehabilitative treatment techniques across multiple age groups.

Understanding of Pediatric Occupational Therapy regulations and practice standards.

Experience in direct patient care for pediatric occupational therapy.

Familiarity with equipment and instruments used in daily pediatric OT activities.

Strong skills in treating pediatric OT patients and utilizing applicable tools.

Ability to assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands.

Critical thinking in performing pediatric OT tasks.

Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative relationships with colleagues and community resources (ABA, PT, SLP, special education teachers, etc.).

Job Types Full‑time, Part‑time, Per diem

Pay $55.00 – $75.00 per hour

Expected Hours 10 – 40 per week
