MedStar Health is looking for a Senior MRI Technologist to join our team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.

Schedule 3-Twelve Hour Shifts Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 7:00am-7:30pm

Responsibilities

Perform a full range of MR imaging procedures in a timely manner on all patient types as specified by protocol, including venipuncture, injection of contrast media, and non‑narcotic medication as required for effective diagnostic imaging.

Operate MR IV pumps and monitors to assist nursing and anesthesia staff; perform independently and adhere to policies for advanced MR studies (Cardiac MR, Full‑Body MR, MR Spectroscopy, TWIST imaging, NATIVE sequences, MR Lymphangiography, dynamic pelvic floor studies, MR Urography, MR Runoff, Functional MRI, Placental imaging, LiverLab, and MR‑guided procedures such as breast biopsy).

Administer rectal and vaginal contrast agents when indicated; perform QA phantoms weekly and log data as required by the American College of Radiology.

Act as charge technologist on a routine basis, assisting the modality supervisor to optimize patient flow safely and effectively; train and develop other MR technologists as needed.

Provide basic information to patients and families about procedures; answer questions.

Maintain MR equipment, adhere to safety requirements, report need for repairs, enforce MR safety standards, analyze potential system malfunctions, and coordinate with biomedical engineering to log tickets.

Ensure timely completion of all exams through tracking, scanning, and workflow management using RIS, ERS, and EMR; coordinate with Technical Aides for efficient room turnover and with Patient Financial Associates to minimize delays and safety issues.

Qualifications

Graduate of an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) approved radiology technology program with advanced certification in MR.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in MRI in a hospital‑based setting.

Registered Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT) with advanced certification in MR or ARRT.

CPR certification (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation).

Must comply with the ARRT or ARMRIT Rules and Regulations and the ARRT or ARMRIT Standards of Ethics.

Associate degree preferred.

This position has a hiring range of $42.82 – $78.27.
