The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for
Director of Advising, Lee Business School [R0147883].
Role of the Position The Director position exists to direct and lead the Lee Business School Undergraduate Advising Center, working directly with the Dean’s office and the Office of the AVP for Students and Academic Success. The Director is responsible for leading and overseeing the delivery of academic advising services and student success strategies and initiatives to help increase retention, progression and completion rates for Lee Business School students. The Director is responsible for the administrative, advisory, and supervisory duties necessary for the day-to-day operations of the advising center. Director duties include but are not limited to advising undergraduate continuing and prospective students, maintaining student records, confirming degree requirements, involvement with curriculum and course related activities, and providing leadership in the implementation of campus advising policies and practices. The Director is responsible for directing and managing the operations of the Advising Center: set unit policies, supervise and train advising professionals and the Advising Center’s staff, monitor advising center budgets, and represent the advising center at appropriate UNLV events. The Director will advocate and represent the unique needs of students pursuing and majoring in business.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
5-7 years of experience in advising, with at least 1-3 years of supervisor experience and 1-3 years of management experience (credentials must be obtained prior to the start date).
Preferred Qualifications
5-7 years of experience in advising, with at least 3-5 years of supervisory experience and 3-5 years of management experience.
