Job Overview The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for the Associate Director of Academic Advising, College of Engineering. This position, in partnership with the Director of the Advising Center, academic advisors, and an administrative assistant, is responsible for staffing the College of Engineering Advising Center and advancing its goals of student advising, retention, orientation, and record keeping.

Key Responsibilities

Manage RPC objectives and coordinate early outreach and advising for students on academic warning and suspension.

Act as liaison to the broader UNLV community regarding RPC initiatives within the College of Engineering.

Assist the Director in training advisors on RPC‑related policies and procedures.

Provide direct advising to a caseload of undergraduate students, focusing on academic warning, suspension, and re‑entry.

Help students with transfer coursework, degree progress, and remedial plans; interpret and correct degree audits.

Serve as an advocate for students through communication with Faculty Senate committees.

Maintain detailed advising records using various software programs; assist with college and university recruiting, new student orientation, and other service events.

Perform occasional evening and weekend duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s Degree from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or CHEA.

3–5 years of related professional experience and a minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience.

All credentials obtained prior to employment start date.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with students on academic warning or suspension.

Basic evaluation, assessment, data management, and reporting skills.

Proficiency in MyUNLV (PeopleSoft), SalesForce, Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
