Senior Financial Reporting Manager - Corporate Accounting Truist is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Reporting Manager to lead the Corporate Accounting team. The role involves directing and managing staff conducting a range of accounting and financial reporting activities for HR, Finance, Legal, and the parent company and its subsidiaries.

Location Truist in‑office requirement is 5 days per week. The candidate must be located in Charlotte, NC. No remote or telecommute option.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Collaborate across the Finance division to ensure integrity of financials and robust controls.

Support reporting and analysis for the Board of Directors, Investor Relations, and regulatory agencies.

Provide leadership, talent development, and mentoring for team members; review and approve their work.

Foster a team environment that promotes diversity and inclusion.

Leverage relationships with business areas and cross‑functional departments to complete complex tasks and deliver high‑quality work.

Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and availability of internal and external reports.

Coordinate development of accounting processes and procedures.

Maintain technical knowledge of GAAP and reporting requirements; act as subject‑matter expert for assigned areas.

Lead thought leadership on design, execution, and implementation of process changes and internal controls for new accounting and regulatory reporting requirements.

Initiate process improvements across broad organizational processes, proposing innovative solutions and assisting implementation of long‑term solutions.

Provide vision and leadership on reporting strategies, improvements, and upgrades; develop comprehensive information delivery strategies for financial reporting and reconcilement.

Apply best practices to identify and solve complex technical or operational problems using data analysis, judgment, and precedents.

Prepare and review materials for senior leadership summarizing issues and communicating solutions.

Coordinate with internal and external audits and examinations, responding to external and regulatory requests in collaboration with other business units.

Review and update policies and procedures for compliance with governmental regulations and corporate policies and standards.

Assist in risk management governance and business continuity planning processes, as necessary.

Qualifications Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent education and related training.

Eight years of relevant accounting or accounting policy experience; understanding of GAAP and SEC/regulatory reporting.

Strong leadership abilities with a commitment to integrity, intellectual clarity, and excellence.

High personal and professional ethics with impeccable integrity.

High energy level and strong work ethic to meet the demands of a fast‑paced, goal‑driven environment; results orientation with performance metrics and delivery deadlines.

Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently; manage multiple resources, priorities, and projects under tight deadlines.

Excellent technical, research, communication, presentation, critical thinking, problem‑solving, and analytical skills; strong interpersonal skills across internal and external levels.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (with strong emphasis on spreadsheet and database software).

Preferred Qualifications

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license strongly preferred.

Prior experience working in a public accounting firm’s audit practice.

Strong technical accounting knowledge.

Prior experience working for a large, SEC‑registered financial institution.

Master’s or advanced degree in Business or Accounting.

Prior supervisory experience.
