Job Overview
CHI Health and Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska, are seeking an experienced Anesthesiologist to join a full-spectrum practice. The role offers collaboration with a team of 18 full‑time physicians and 45 CRNAs, teaching opportunities for medical students and residents, and involvement in a Level‑I trauma center.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions.
Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
Conduct thorough medical examinations and histories.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Provide clear, concise medical information and foster a patient‑centered approach.
Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date patient records and adhere to coding and billing regulations.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including lab work and imaging.
Perform procedural interventions as required.
Collaborate with specialists, nurses, and other professionals for diagnostic evaluation and interdisciplinary team discussions.
Serve as a consultant to other healthcare providers.
Engage in quality assurance and improvement initiatives, reviewing clinical outcomes for continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with ethical and legal standards, stay informed about regulations, and participate in quality audits.
Commit to ongoing medical education and training, contributing to clinical protocols and guidelines.
Qualifications
American Board Certified or Board Eligible in an Anesthesiology specialty.
Valid, unrestricted state medical license or eligibility for licensure within Nebraska.
American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) Board certification or equivalent board eligibility.
Board certification or eligibility in CAB or CABA.
Ability to obtain and maintain Nebraska licensure.
ACLS and BLS certifications.
Experience supervising Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs).
Comfortable supervising CRNAs in a full‑function model.
Location & Practice Details Omaha, Nebraska – Service area includes the main CUMC campus and CHI Midlands Health Ambulatory Surgery Center. The practice is an academic facility with a 391‑bed Level‑I trauma center. Academic appointments are available through Creighton University School of Medicine. The program is developing anesthesia residency and SRNA programs.
