Energy Business Development Manager

position is responsible for developing, promoting, and selling new gensets, switchgear, and all related accessories by reaching out to Utility, Municipal, and Co-op customers and generating new opportunities for future business.

Responsibilities

Contribute to a positive work environment and promote the vision, mission, and values of BMC.

Complete all job responsibilities in a safe manner, promote and champion a safe and healthy work environment.

Build and manage strong customer relationships with Utility Providers, Municipalities, and Co‑ops through proactive communication.

Engage with customers via phone, portal, email, text, and chat to respond to requests, resolve issues, and answer questions.

Develop new Peak Shaving, Bridge to Grid, and Prime Power opportunities with our current customer base.

Attend all market‑related trade shows.

Plan daily sales call itinerary; make sales calls on existing and prospective customers; monitor/update call lists and manage customer database in SalesLink.

Participate in an ongoing process encompassing goal setting and establishing attainable monthly and yearly objectives in conjunction with the supervisor.

Work with Caterpillar and other outside vendors to provide complete customer solutions.

Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by the supervisor and may be expected to represent Blanchard at meetings as directed.

Serve as a focal point for creating, collecting, organizing, and updating the CRM to support business development.

Complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.

Prepare reports and data as requested.

Possess personal commitment to continuous professional development and complete all required training.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a Business‑related field.

Extensive knowledge of Power Generation equipment and the power generation equipment industry.

Extensive knowledge of Utility and Co‑op services and rate structures.

Solid working understanding of the territory, its service needs, and relevant knowledge of the competition within the area.

Availability to work during off hours and weekends to take calls from customers to handle emergency situations.

Positive, solutions‑oriented mindset coupled with strong time management and organizational skills.

Must possess a valid South Carolina driver's license and have no more than two moving violations in a three‑year period.

Strong MS Office skills.

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to work with all levels of employees and management in a positive, professional, and effective way.

Working Conditions

The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.

Position requires employee to work on‑site at a designated location as well as travel to customer sites.

Job requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, climbing, and lifting (up to 40 lbs unassisted).

Ability to maintain all safety standards while working on the ground or at heights and accessing customer equipment.

Seeing, reading, and writing to complete job responsibilities.

Use of computer and other forms of technology to complete job responsibilities.
