Our client is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated
Senior Litigation Associate
to join our litigation team. This position is ideal for a candidate with five or more years of defense litigation experience, particularly in
product liability
and
transportation-related litigation . The successful candidate will play a key role in managing complex cases, providing strategic legal counsel, and representing clients in state and federal courts. Responsibilities: Defense Litigation:
Manage and handle complex defense litigation matters, focusing primarily on product liability and transportation-related cases. Deposition Experience:
Take and defend depositions of fact witnesses, experts, and other parties in litigation. Motions Practice:
Draft and argue dispositive motions, including motions for summary judgment and motions to dismiss, in both state and federal courts. Client Interaction:
Build and maintain strong client relationships by providing timely updates, strategic advice, and practical solutions to complex legal issues. Case Strategy:
Collaborate with senior partners and colleagues to develop and implement case strategies, providing insight on legal risks and opportunities. Legal Research & Writing:
Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare clear, concise, and persuasive legal documents, including briefs, motions, and memoranda. Litigation Support:
Oversee junior associates and legal support staff in the preparation of discovery, trial preparation, and other litigation-related tasks. Court Appearances:
Represent clients at pre-trial hearings, conferences, depositions, and trials. Collaboration:
Work closely with other practice groups within the firm to provide seamless service to clients and support for broader litigation initiatives.
Qualifications: Licensing:
Must be licensed to practice law in Missouri. Illinois licensure is strongly preferred. Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in defense litigation, with a focus on
product liability
and
transportation-related litigation . Litigation Skills:
Strong experience in taking and defending depositions, drafting and arguing dispositive motions, and trial preparation. Analytical & Writing Skills:
Exceptional analytical and writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and persuasively. Attention to Detail:
Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle complex legal matters efficiently and effectively. Work Ethic:
Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Client Focus:
A passion for client service, with a proactive approach to addressing client needs and fostering long-term relationships.
Preferred Skills: Trial Experience:
Experience in managing and/or participating in trials is highly preferred but not required. Team Collaboration:
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining strong individual accountability. Leadership Potential:
