Position Overview
As the Director of Capital Raising & Investor Relations, you will lead TurnDev’s fundraising strategy, building strong partnerships with private investors, family offices, and institutional capital sources. You will work closely with the executive team to align TurnDev’s projects — including adaptive reuse, historic preservation, multifamily, retail, and storage development — with compelling capital structures that attract and retain supporters of our mission.
Key Responsibilities Capital Raising Strategy
Design and implement a capital raising plan for TurnDev’s current and future project pipeline, including adaptive-reuse and multi-use developments.
Source and pitch to high-net-worth individuals, family offices, private equity, and institutional investors.
Lead investor roadshows, meetings, presentations, and negotiations.
Investor Relations
Serve as the primary point of contact for TurnDev’s live and prospective investors.
Prepare, review, and distribute investor materials: pitch decks, project summaries, financial forecasts, and performance reports.
Provide regular updates, manage reporting, and coordinate annual or quarterly touchpoints with investors.
Partnership Development
Build and nurture relationships with strategic partners: financial advisors, capital intermediaries, community development organizations, and public‑sector stakeholders.
Evaluate and recommend optimal financing structures, including equity, debt, historic‑tax‑credit financing, and joint ventures.
Market & Financial Analysis
Deeply understand TurnDev’s project models — such as historic rehab, district building, multifamily, retail, and storage.
Analyze market trends, capital markets, and investor appetite to inform structuring of deals.
Collaborate with TurnDev’s internal development and finance teams to evaluate risk, returns, and capital allocation.
Communications & Storytelling
Develop compelling narratives around TurnDev’s mission of community revitalization and sustainable development.
Represent TurnDev at real estate and investment conferences, community forums, and networking events.
Craft collateral materials such as investor brochures, website content, and case studies.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Real Estate, or a relevant field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
7+ years of experience in capital raising, real estate finance, investor relations, or a related role.
Track record of raising equity and/or debt capital for real estate projects, especially in development or redevelopment.
Solid understanding of real estate deal structures, underwriting, and risk analysis.
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship‑building skills.
An existing network of investors, family offices, or institutional capital is a strong plus.
Self‑starter with entrepreneurial drive and the ability to operate in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment.
