A growing nonprofit south of Boston is seeking a
Vice President of Finance
to oversee all financial operations for a multi-site organization supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. The VP of Finance will be responsible for overseeing financial planning, reporting, compliance, and internal controls. This role manages a team of five and partners closely with the CEO, President, Board, and Finance Committee.
Base salary: $150,000-165,000 annually.
Key Responsibilities
Lead monthly close, financial reporting, forecasting, and budget management
Oversee accounting operations, including A/P, A/R, reconciliations, journal entries, and contract billing
Present financials to executive leadership, board, and committees
Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with nonprofit and public-sector requirements
Manage cash flow, audits, tax filings, and external banking/contract relationships
Supervise and develop the finance team
Lead system upgrades, including a major accounting-system transition
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or CPA preferred
10+ years of senior financial leadership
Nonprofit or healthcare financial experience strongly preferred
Hands‑on expertise with monthly close, reporting, and complex multi‑site accounting
Experience supporting organizations with ~$30M+ budgets and diverse funding streams (e.g., state contracts)
Strong communication, analytical, and team leadership skills
Mission‑driven mindset and comfort balancing financial discipline with client-focused spending
