In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Expected Pay Scale
Minimum:
$125,000.00 Annually
Maximum:
$130,000.00 Annually
Job Summary This is a College of Graduate Nursing administration-level position within Western University of Health Sciences and is offered in conjunction with a faculty appointment. Together, the administrative role of Director of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program and the faculty appointment (PCN F01612) comprise a full-time position (1.0 FTE / 5 days per week).

The Director of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program of the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs and postgraduate PMHNP Certificate promotes strategic partnerships to increase visibility, engagement, and integration of the PMHNP program and certificate within the College, the University, and the Community. The Director is responsible for leading, administrating, managing financial and human resources, student development, and teaching.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
Ability to communicate with others, both in person and by using computers, telephones, and written communications. Ability to interact effectively with administration, faculty, staff, students, and outside contacts.
Ability to provide academic and professional leadership in policy formulation.
Ability to handle detail-oriented assignments and maintain confidentiality.
Ability to use a personal computer and to access information through the Internet and communicate via e-mail.
Ability to work with and cooperate with supervisory personnel at all levels.
Organizational skills necessary in prioritizing workload and delegating responsibility.
Knowledge of historic and current nursing education practices and standards.
Knowledge and skill with the application of computer-based learning principles and practices.
Knowledge and skill with the application of distance learning principles and standards.
Required Qualifications
Education:
A Doctoral degree in Nursing, current California RN license, and current California PMHNP license are required.
Certification in PMHNP required.
Experience:
A minimum of (1) year experience in higher education or nursing administration (as program director, department chair, etc.) and one year of full-time teaching experience in Nursing.
BRN approved for teaching in a required subject area.
