Postdoctoral Fellow – Department of Medical and Clinical Psychology Join the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) to support studies of pediatric eating disorders and military child weight-based stigma in the Medical & Clinical Psychology Department at USU, Bethesda, MD.

Responsibilities

Assist in designing, developing, executing, and implementing scientific research and/or development.

Prepare data for presentations at scientific meetings and for publication in journals.

Perform other duties as assigned or directed by the supervisor, including required training.

Provide training and supervision in semi-structured interventions focusing on disordered eating, general psychopathology, and other psychosocial domains.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers in clinical psychology, medical psychology, pediatric endocrinology, and adolescent medicine.

Develop an independent research program through writing grant applications and authoring peer‑reviewed manuscripts.

Participate in educational and career development trainings and workshops.

Supervise research assistants and graduate students.

Qualifications

Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in clinical psychology from an APA‑accredited program.

0–5 years of experience in research.

Demonstrated success in publishing research in peer‑reviewed journals, with strong oral and written communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Attention to detail, strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills.

Must be able to obtain CITI certification and a DoD Common Access Card.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust clearance.

Preferred: prior clinical and/or research experience with eating or weight disorders, training in empirically‑supported treatments, or experience with pediatric civilian and/or military populations.

Physical & Work Environment

Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.

Primary work location: laboratory setting.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual salary range: $50,100–$67,500, commensurate with experience.
