Reports to: Executive Director, Marketing & Communications
Supervision: Potential to manage future staff or student interns.
Position Overview The Director of Digital Marketing leads the development and execution of long‑term digital marketing strategies for the Indianapolis campus, creating and managing innovative content across web, email, social media, video, and paid advertising to drive online conversions and campus engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Execution
Develop and implement long‑term digital marketing strategies aligned with campus goals.
Set measurable KPIs, monitor performance, and optimize campaigns.
Lead digital campaigns across web, social, email, and video platforms.
Digital Marketing Expertise
Manage paid and organic social media campaigns on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.
Create lifecycle‑based marketing programs (lead generation, retention).
Utilize SEO, Google Analytics and tools like Hootsuite for performance.
Creative Content Development
Oversee production of video, photography, social media posts, emails, blogs.
Guide teams to produce mobile‑optimized, visual‑suitable stories.
Project Management & Collaboration
Collaborate with marketing, IT, and internal teams for synchronized digital efforts.
Manage budgets, track ROI, propose optimization strategies.
Coordinate events incorporating digital marketing strategies.
Technology & Innovation
Stay current with emerging digital trends, tools, and technologies.
Use Salesforce Marketing Cloud for campaign management and automation.
Reporting & Analysis
Analyze metrics to measure campaign success and adjust strategies.
Provide regular reports on digital metrics and performance to stakeholders.
Leadership & Supervision
Potentially manage a future team member(s) and/or student interns.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to address challenges.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical: Microsoft Outlook, CMS, SEO, Google Analytics, MailChimp/Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Hootsuite, project management software.
Communication: Strong verbal & written skills, AP style knowledge.
Creativity & Visual Design: Multimedia storytelling and compelling digital content.
Project Management: Experience managing multiple digital projects with tight deadlines.
Problem‑Solving: Identify challenges, develop solutions, adjust strategies.
Interpersonal: Collaborative skills, inspire other communicators.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Strong understanding of higher education marketing trends and challenges.
Required Education & Experience
Associate or bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or related field.
3‑5 + years of digital marketing experience with web pages, email, social media, video, and digital advertising.
