Overview The Solution Engineer is a role that hires at Salesforce. The position involves partnering with clients and collaborating with internal teams, including Products and Professional Services, to develop thoughtful solutions that help customers connect with their customers in new ways. This dynamic role requires expertise in design, business consulting, and technology, and offers the chance to interact with the full customer lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Align innovative strategies to technology solutions within complex accounts, partnering with clients and collaborating with internal teams and C‑level client contacts.

Work on business development, operations, and IT strategy assignments, acting as a trusted advisor to drive innovative solutions and improve business performance.

Take ambiguous and sophisticated business problems, use research and assessment capabilities to define problems, generate innovative ideas, identify opportunities, and recommend practical next steps.

Bring focus to client decision‑making by communicating and evaluating solution options and driving consensus among key collaborators; help develop decision frameworks and governance processes.

Demonstrate connected experiences through software demos and rapid prototyping, providing executive‑level demonstrations and future‑state customer journey strategies.

Assist customer, Account Executive, and Professional Services teams with discovery, analysis, and recommendation of strategic solutions delivered through live product demonstrations.

Discover customer business needs and position the best Salesforce solution to achieve objectives.

Build and present customized solutions and demonstrations focused on Salesforce products for multiple personas, showing how Salesforce accelerates business strategies and delivers value.

Convey a deep understanding of the customer’s architecture as it relates to Salesforce solutions.

Orchestrate and lead cross‑functional solution guides and align them to opportunity strategy.

Develop and deliver a compelling narrative of the customer experience powered by Salesforce technologies.

Participate in product, sales, and procedural training and certifications to maintain essential knowledge.

Travel as required based on territory alignment and region.

Required Qualifications

B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent relevant experience; evaluated based on core competencies such as leadership, military, volunteer, or work experience.

Knowledge of related applications, relational databases, and web technology.

Strong oral, written, presentation, collaboration, and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to work within a team to solve technical problems in varied political environments.

Minimum of 4 years of professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Salesforce certifications.

Previous experience as a solution/sales engineer for a CRM company or similar technology.
