Overview A leading global architecture and engineering firm with over 100 years of legacy is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer/Studio Lead for their Minneapolis office. This established firm specializes in transformative design across multiple sectors, with offices strategically located throughout the United States. Their portfolio encompasses federal, healthcare, aviation, education, and commercial projects, delivered through integrated architecture, engineering, and interior design services. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead complex engineering projects with a focus on protective design and federal infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership

Lead complex engineering design processes and problem-solving initiatives

Establish and specify engineering requirements for projects

Conduct and oversee site investigations

Create high-quality technical documentation including narratives, reports, calculations, and specifications

Ensure deliverables meet quality standards while adhering to schedule and budget constraints

Project Management & Coordination

Lead cross-discipline coordination and technical discussions

Review engineering documents for code compliance and quality assurance

Manage construction administration activities including submittal reviews, RFI responses, and site visits

Develop and maintain engineering quality control processes

Direct and supervise Engineers, EITs, and designers

Team Development

Mentor junior professionals and designers

Create and implement training programs for the engineering team

Foster effective communication practices across teams

Build and manage project teams for various initiatives

Implement standardized practices across the studio

Strategic Leadership

Identify and communicate with Subject Matter Experts across markets

Coordinate resource allocation with Operations and Discipline Directors

Support business development and studio growth initiatives

Participate in recruitment and hiring processes

Client Relations & Business Development

Attend client meetings and maintain stakeholder communications

Develop client relationships and strategic partnerships

Contribute to proposal writing and fee estimation

Participate in client interviews

Travel for marketing and project activities as needed

Requirements: Professional Engineering (PE) license required

ABET-accredited Engineering or Architectural Engineering degree

10+ years licensed experience

3+ years team management experience

Production experience in developing deliverable drawing sets in Revit and AutoCAD required

Expertise with industry-standard calculation software

Strong knowledge of building codes and industry standards

Compensation & Benefits: Salary range: $95,000 – $145,000, based on experience
