Location of Position Houston, TX
The Position The
Project Manager II
is responsible for overall project delivery, client satisfaction, and the financial performance of assignments. The PM II provides strategic oversight, manages complex stakeholder relationships, and ensures that project execution aligns with company standards, client expectations, and regulatory requirements. They mentor and guide project teams, make critical project decisions independently, and support business development through client engagement and project scoping.
Position Responsibilities
Provide overall accountability for client satisfaction.
Take full ownership of profit and loss for assigned projects, analyzing and leveraging data related to safety, quality, cost, schedule, progress measurement, risk management, change management, and supporting project estimation to drive strategic outcomes.
Act as the primary liaison for all contractual, commercial, and technical matters with clients and internal teams.
Ensure projects comply with company processes, written procedures, contract exhibits, agreed client scope of work, and regulatory and code requirements, including reviewing compliance across multiple project teams.
Lead communication and coordination between project teams, cross‑functional departments, senior leadership, external vendors, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure project deliverables, requirements, schedules, and budgets are met.
Approve and manage all changes to cost and/or schedule baselines, ensuring proper delegation of authority and client approvals are obtained prior to committing resources.
Prepare agendas, meeting notes, and executive‑level project summaries for internal and client distribution.
Monitor task completion status across multiple projects to identify risks early and develop mitigation strategies.
Allocate resources, budgets, and hours to multiple projects, adjusting as necessary to optimize outcomes.
Assess supplier and contractor performance on complex projects, providing corrective guidance and escalations when required.
Manage and grow client relationships at a strategic level before, during, and after project execution, supporting business development opportunities.
Identify, attract, and foster key client and supplier relationships and business opportunities, contributing to strategic growth initiatives.
Mentor and guide junior project managers and team members, supporting career development and knowledge transfer.
Work autonomously while managing the full project lifecycle and providing strategic input to company leadership on project portfolio and resource planning.
Qualifications
10+ years of project management experience required.
Bachelor's degree required; engineering preferred.
PMP or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
Desired Skills And Competencies
Excellent facilitation, communication, and analytical skills - written and verbal.
High level of personal integrity.
Strong relationship capabilities.
Proficient in both written and spoken English.
