A growing, regional law firm is seeking a full-time Legal Secretary to support three attorneys, primarily in Labor and Employment litigation. The position is based in the San Jose office and offers a hybrid schedule (2-days onsite and 3-days remote) following a 90‑day onsite training period.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide litigation and administrative support to assigned attorneys.
- Draft, proofread, and revise various documents, including pleadings, correspondence, memoranda, letters, emails, and investigation reports.
- Assist with preparation for meetings, depositions, hearings, mediations, trials, and other proceedings.
- Manage calendars, travel arrangements, billing, and expense reimbursements.
- Maintain electronic case files and coordinate with internal departments.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of legal secretary experience, preferably supporting senior attorneys.
- Experience in Employment Law is highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and legal software (NetDocuments, Best Authority, CompuLaw/ProLaw; Aderant preferred).
- Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Proven track record of stability and professionalism.
The compensation range for this position is $85,000–$110,000 (based on a 37.5-hour workweek). The firm also offers medical, dental and vision health insurance, 401(k) with partial match, annual discretionary bonuses, and 80 hours of sick and vacation time annually.
