Position: Litigation Secretary
Location: San Jose, CA

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (on-site 2 days per week after 90 days)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Litigation Secretary to support a busy Employment Litigation desk in our San Jose office. This role provides direct support to four attorneys and requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with employment litigation procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive litigation support to four employment litigation attorneys
- Prepare, revise, and proofread pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and legal memoranda
- File documents with state and federal courts, including e‑filing and service of process
- Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, and court dates; monitor litigation deadlines and ticklers
- Coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials
- Handle client communications and maintain professional correspondence
- Maintain and organize electronic and physical case files
- Assist with billing, time entry, and expense reports as needed
- Perform general administrative and clerical duties in support of the litigation team
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a litigation secretary, preferably in employment law
- Knowledge of California and federal court rules and procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel); experience with legal document management systems preferred
- Strong proofreading, formatting, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
