Summary The Control Testing Specialist is responsible for executing detailed risk‑based compliance tests to assess the design and effectiveness of internal controls related to the Credit Union’s mortgage, commercial and consumer lending products and services as well as pertinent regulations that affect day‑to‑day transactions of members.
Education and/or Experience
Associate’s degree required or a minimum of four years directly related experience required
Minimum three years experience in a compliance, audit, quality control or other risk management role with a focus on reviews, testing or general quality assurance tasks
Knowledge of lending regulations is required
Attention to detail, strong written communication skills for documenting findings and the ability to work independently and work teams is required
Proficient in Microsoft suite applications
General understanding of compliance, risk or audit testing
Job Responsibilities
Execute risk‑based compliance testing for key lending and other regulations such as, but may not be limited to: Truth in Lending Act (TILA/RegZ), RESPA, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, HMDA, Flood, SAFE Act, Consumer Leasing, FDCPA, TRID, FCRA, etc.
Perform detailed transactional testing of loan files from application to closing, member disclosures, billing statements & disputes, error resolution protocols, advertisements, mortgage loan officer performance, call monitoring, etc.
Document test steps, evidence and results in formal workpapers to create a clear and auditable trail.
Identify control weaknesses and assist in documenting the underlying root cause as well as validation of corrective actions taken by the business lines.
Perform other duties as needed upon request by immediate supervisor.

The good faith range for this position is $28.00 - $33.50/hr. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications and operational needs. The salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
