About the Position
Our client, a Midwest-based national law firm, is seeking a funds lawyer (experience with private equity, private credit, and venture capital funds preferred) with 3-5 years of experience to join its Chicago office as an associate. The person in this role will work primarily with the firm’s nationally-recognized Financial Services & Capital Markets group, which counsels a range of clients across the country, including family offices, private investors, closely-held companies, private equity funds, and holdings companies.

Responsibilities
Represent privately-held companies as well as private equity funds looking to strategically invest in the U.S. and internationally
Advise on letters of intent, lead legal due diligence, negotiate transaction documents, handle tasks related to closing of deals
Required Qualifications
3-5 years of experience advising investment funds, as well as investors in such funds, throughout all stages of the funds’ lifecycle
Specific experience with private equity, private credit, and venture capital funds preferred
Excellent academic credentials
Location Chicago, IL (Hybrid/Remote)
Compensation The anticipated base compensation for this position is $215,000 – $285,000.
