Position Summary We are seeking a skilled compliance professional to help manage our global Earnings & Tax Compliance program for independent contractors. This role supports the company’s efforts to stay ahead of evolving regulations and maintain the integrity of our contractor earnings ecosystem. The Senior Manager will assist in executing compliance strategies, policies, and controls that balance legal requirements, operational needs, and contractor experience.

About the Independent Contractor (Spark Driver) Earnings Team Our team operates at the intersection of regulatory expertise and business innovation, ensuring our independent contractor earnings systems are compliant, resilient, and trusted across jurisdictions. We collaborate cross-functionally to implement robust compliance frameworks, anticipate regulatory trends, and build a culture of integrity, transparency, and continuous learning.

What you’ll do

Respond to compliance and ethics questions, monitor laws and regulations impacting contractor earnings globally, and help translate findings into updated policies and procedures.

Conduct gap analyses, identify compliance risks, and support the development and execution of corrective action plans.

Assist in developing and implementing strategies and controls to ensure compliance with new and emerging regulations, collaborating with leadership to roll out effective training programs.

Support the definition and benchmarking of compliance policies, contribute to risk management practices, and coordinate with outside counsel and consultants on tax and regulatory matters as needed.

Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of compliance programs using KPIs, support regulatory engagement, and help formalize internal and external positions on compliance issues.

What You’ll Bring

7+ years of experience in compliance, tax, legal, or regulatory roles, including 2+ years in a management or team lead position.

Strong knowledge of federal, state, and international tax compliance and earnings regulations for contractors/gig workers.

Experience supporting the design and implementation of compliance frameworks in complex, fast-paced environments.

Proficiency in risk management, investigations, audits, and regulatory engagement.

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced compliance/legal credential (e.g., JD) preferred.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field and 4 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area OR 6 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area. 2 years’ supervisory experience. 3 years’ experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
