Manager of Staff Learning & Development Job Details:
We are seeking an experienced Manager of Staff Learning & Development to join our Human Resources team. This role is responsible for designing, delivering, and enhancing training programs that support staff growth and performance across the firm. Key focus areas include curriculum development, onboarding, soft‑skills training, HR‑driven content, and collaboration with subject‑matter experts. The Manager plays a hands‑on role in training facilitation, content creation, LMS management, and building career development pathways.
This role may be based in any of the following firm offices:
Denver, CO; Los Angeles, CA; Orange County, CA; Palo Alto, CA; Phoenix, AZ; Salt Lake City, UT; Seattle, WA; or Washington, D.C.
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Develop and deliver engaging training programs for staff at all levels, including onboarding, professional skills, compliance, and role‑specific training
Create learning materials such as facilitator guides, e‑learning modules, job aids, and assessments
Facilitate live training sessions (virtual and in‑person) with professionalism, clarity, and strong audience engagement
Maintain and update the staff learning curriculum to reflect evolving needs, competencies, and firm priorities
Conduct needs assessments and work with HR, IT, and operational leaders to identify learning gaps
Support implementation of leadership development and manager capability training
Administer the LMS, including course setup, reporting, notifications, rosters, and tracking
Review training metrics to monitor participation and effectiveness
Coordinate logistics for training programs across multiple offices
Partner with IT for systems training consistency and support
Work with departmental and office Directors on integrating training outcomes into development plans
Communicate progress, updates, and insights to HR and department leadership
Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; Learning & Development certification preferred
At least 5 years of experience in training, professional development, or HR; law firm or professional services experience a plus
Strong instructional design capability and facilitation skills
Experience managing LMS platforms and analyzing training metrics
Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder partnership skills
This position offers a salary range of $105,000.00 to $135,000.00, with final compensation dependent on the selected candidate’s years of experience and office location.
