Hospital Medicine - Nocturnist (Finance)
The Morsani College of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hospital Medicine is seeking Academic Hospitalist Nocturnists (Open-Rank) to work the night shift (7 pm - 7 am). The role involves providing inpatient care, consulting with medical staff, interpreting lab results, educating staff and students, and managing patient flow. Responsibilities also include maintaining quality standards, developing care protocols, and possibly presenting research projects to advance hospital medicine. BC/BE in Internal Medicine and/or Family Medicine are encouraged to apply.
Minimum Qualifications:
Medical degree from an accredited institution or equivalent, with a record of achievement in teaching, research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment as Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
Must hold or be eligible for an unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent. The candidate must obtain and maintain a full, unrestricted FL Medical License, maintain credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan, and be in good standing at the hospitals where clinical duties are performed. Participation in teaching residents, fellows, and medical students is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
1-3 years of hospitalist or physician experience.
Experience in hospital medicine and academic medical centers.
Proven teaching and research track record.
Desire to work as a nocturnist is preferred.

Clinical Responsibilities:
Provide overnight coverage at Tampa General Hospital, including care for transplant, general internal medicine, and surgical co-management patients.
Teaching Responsibilities:
Teach medical students and residents, supervise inpatient residents, and possibly precept in outpatient settings.
