Position Overview Appointed by the Chair of the Department of Radiology/Chief-of-Service of the Imaging Program, this Director plays a key role in partnership with the Chair and other Department/Program leaders to provide leadership and guidance in making The Ohio State University clinical US program one of the most outstanding relative to those at other major academic medical centers. Additionally, he/she will supervise across sub‑specialty Radiology professional divisions/clinical service lines key operational aspects related to the multi‑scanner clinical US program of Radiology/Imaging at OSU.

Department/Division Overview The Department of Radiology is rapidly growing, with expanded services at off‑site imaging centers, and renovations to our existing clinical spaces and new spaces through the medical center strategic expansion project ($3+ Billion). Main campus: New construction of a state‑of‑the‑art 830‑bed Hospital Tower, a biomedical research tower, and a Health Sciences building houses the College of Medicine. Around the city: Construction of 2 newly designed ambulatory care centers in New Albany and Dublin are now completed and open and a new outpatient facility set to open in Powell in August 2026, in addition to 16 established ambulatory care centers up and running today.

Duties and Responsibilities

Lead, direct, and monitor routine operations of the US program with oversight and accountability to ensure efficient, compliant, and professional services are designed to meet the needs of patients, referring physicians, faculty, staff, trainees, and the community.

Regularly (and as requested) provide advice and consultation directly to Chair on clinical operational matters related to the US program.

Collaborate with Department Chair, Vice Chairs, Division Chiefs, departmental Administrator, departmental clinical faculty, and Imaging Program technical leadership in developing and establishing clinical practice programs and strategies to maximize quality assessments, volume statistics, billing and collections, expense & revenue trends.

Lead the development, implementation, and modifications to clinical processes and activities to meet national practice trends.

Collaborate with other OSUWMC operational leaders to identify opportunities that will result in quality & process improvements, greater safety & risk reduction, and programmatic growth & increased market share for the US program.

Lead the development and implementation of strategies to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of US across the system, including safety and risk reduction and technology assessment.

Actively participate in institution‑wide initiatives to enhance patient services and ensure compliance with healthcare reform by continual monitoring and adherence to federal rules & regulations and governmental reimbursement systems.

Provide leadership for education and training, including the instruction of technologists, trainees, and faculty, in relation to the US program.

Requirements

M.D., D.O., or equivalent degree.

Board eligible or board certified in Radiology (ABR, ABOR).

Subspecialty fellowship in Abdominal & Pelvic Imaging.

Must possess or be eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio.
