Senior Accountant
Location:
Chicago, IL (In Office, 5 days weekly)

Pay Range:
Target to $105,000 base plus 10% bonus with flexibility up to $110,000

Key Responsibilities
Development and Construction Accounting:
Review and prepare G702 and G703 applications for payment from both the general contractor and owner perspectives; oversee Textura processing for all designer vendors and contractors tied to assigned projects; coordinate disbursement of project funds with title companies.
Project Cost Management and Systems:
Support eBuilder functionality and reconcile all project costs to the general ledger monthly; facilitate timely data entry of invoice applications, change orders, and general expenses; ensure accurate reporting and compliance across development and construction workflows.
Month End Close and Financial Reporting:
Prepare and analyze the general ledger financial statements, accruals and adjusting entries in accordance with GAAP; review and prepare monthly work papers and reporting packages for assigned projects; assist the commercial accounting team with consolidated reporting to project owners; prepare project level profitability analysis.
Cross Functional Collaboration and Support:
Partner with construction, development, finance, tax and legal teams as well as external partners; support annual audits and participate in process improvement and technology integration initiatives; provide operational reporting and metrics to senior leadership.
Key Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Three to five plus years of progressive accounting experience ideally within development, construction or real estate; strong candidates with three to four years also considered.
Commitment to five days weekly onsite at the Chicago office.
Experience with JD Edwards Textura or eBuilder is a plus.
Exceptional communication soft skills and the ability to collaborate across diverse project teams.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate data, identify issues and make recommendations.
