Director / Senior Director of Logistics Position Overview:
The Director/Senior Director of Logistics is responsible for leading and scaling all logistics functions for a rapidly growing contemporary RTW brand with both wholesale and e-commerce channels. This role oversees a team of six (including two direct reports) and manages domestic and international 3PL partners, including warehouse operations in New Jersey and Italy. The ideal candidate is a strategic, process-oriented leader with the ability to build and implement operational frameworks, partner cross-functionally, and support the upcoming ERP launch. This person will elevate logistics performance through robust SOPs, KPI development, and continuous improvement across the supply chain. Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of six logistics professionals, including two direct reports. Provide strategic direction while ensuring day-to-day execution excellence. Cultivate a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaborative problem-solving. Warehouse & 3PL Management
Oversee all warehouse operations in partnership with domestic (New Jersey) and international (Italy) 3PLs. Ensure service level agreements are met, including receiving, QC, picking, packing, shipping, and returns management. Drive operational efficiency, cost optimization, and accuracy across all warehouse functions. Conduct regular performance reviews with 3PLs and lead action planning to address gaps. ERP Implementation & Systems Management
Serve as a core logistics lead for the upcoming ERP implementation. Partner with internal and external teams to ensure seamless integration of inventory, order management, and warehouse workflows. Lead change management, training, testing, and post-launch optimization. Logistics Strategy & Continuous Improvement
Develop and execute a long-term logistics strategy aligned with company growth goals. Establish and refine standardized operating procedures across all logistics functions. Create and manage KPIs, dashboards, and reporting to track performance, accuracy, cost, and throughput. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance speed, visibility, and flexibility. Wholesale & E-Commerce Operations
Oversee logistics for both wholesale and e-commerce channels, ensuring timely fulfillment and accuracy. Partner with Sales, Planning, Merchandising, and Customer Experience to forecast needs and proactively address operational challenges. Ensure compliance with routing guides and customer-specific requirements for major wholesale accounts. Inventory Management & Accuracy
Collaborate closely with Planning and IT to maintain accurate, real-time inventory across channels and warehouses. Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for inventory discrepancies. Ensure strong controls and cycle count programs are in place. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Production, Operations, Customer Service, and Finance to support seasonal deliveries, new product launches, and business initiatives. Lead logistics readiness for new markets, new product categories, and distribution expansions. Qualifications
10+ years of progressively responsible logistics, distribution, or supply chain experience, preferably within fashion or consumer goods. Experience managing both domestic and international 3PLs. Proven leadership experience managing teams and large-scale operations. Strong background in systems implementation; ERP launch experience required (Apparel ERP experience is a plus). Deep understanding of wholesale routing, e-commerce fulfillment, SLAs, freight, and inventory management. Exceptional analytical, strategic, and communication skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Highly organized with strong project management capabilities.
