Tax Manager - Mid‑Sized Firm (Up to 160K+)
We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our mid‑sized firm. The ideal candidate will oversee tax compliance and planning for our diverse client portfolio, ensuring that all tax obligations are met while providing strategic tax advice to enhance clients’ financial positions.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses.
Provide tax planning and consulting services to clients, helping them to optimize their tax positions.
Review tax returns prepared by junior staff and ensure accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.
Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, and communicate these changes to clients and staff.
Develop and maintain strong client relationships to foster loyalty and additional business opportunities.
Assist in the training and development of junior tax staff and interns.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or EA designation preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax management or a similar role, preferably in a public accounting environment.
Strong knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements at the federal, state, and local levels.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to identify tax savings opportunities.
Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients and team members.
