Tax Manager

As Tax Manager, you will be accountable for all phases of the client tax engagement, including budget, staff, planning, production, first‑level or final review, total work quality, and profitability of the engagement. What you will do

Facilitate client engagement and manage the client relationship, including billing and collection.

Serve as point of contact for clients.

Sign tax returns.

Develop, train, and lead team members by providing detailed review and analysis of their work while monitoring key performance metrics.

Schedule and manage the workload of team members (direct reports) to promote efficient and profitable operations.

Contribute to the strategic planning and direction of the Tax department.

Engage in business development opportunities with responsibility for firm growth of new clients and further developing services for existing clients.

Monitor legislative/regulatory tax law developments and update tax practices that could affect the business climate.

Provide leadership in an area of focus and specialization, including serving on a tax committee.

Complete special projects as assigned.

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

CPA or EA certification with a minimum of 5 years of public accounting experience

Experience conceptualizing, developing, and monitoring the workflow for tax preparation

Strong working knowledge of tax law and other professional standards/regulations

Experience preparing and reviewing complex returns for S‑Corporations, C‑Corporations, LLCs, partnerships, high‑wealth individuals, consolidated or multi‑state returns, and nonprofits

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree

Additional professional designations or certifications showing specialization in areas of taxation

Shift Days Flexibility required to accommodate client needs and firm business schedule.
