Dentist 1 (NY HELPS) Join to apply for the Dentist 1 (NY HELPS) role at the NYS Office of Children and Family Services.

Pay Range Base pay: $187,158.00/yr – $187,158.00/yr. The final pay will be based on your skills and experience.

Responsibilities / Duties

Perform the full range of professional dental services, including examinations, restorative procedures, extractions, cleanings, and treatment of infections.

Use x‑rays, mouth mirrors, and other diagnostic instruments to evaluate oral structures and identify pathological or irregular conditions.

Carry out restoration of simple and compound cavities.

Perform single and multiple extractions of teeth.

Treat dental diseases, injuries, and malfunctions of teeth and gums.

Treat teeth, mouth, and gum infections with appropriate drugs or surgery.

Maintain written records of patients’ dental treatments.

Advise individuals about dental health practices.

Additional duties to be discussed in detail during the interview.

Minimum Qualifications

Active license and current registration to practice dentistry in New York State.

Must maintain a valid New York State license and registration.

Background Investigation Requirements

All prospective employees will be investigated through a Criminal Background Check (CBC) including state and federal criminal history record checks.

All prospective employees will be screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR).

For Division of Juvenile Justice and Opportunities for Youth (DJJOY) prospective appointees will be checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs.
