Dentist 1 (NY HELPS) Location: New York State Office of Children and Family Services, Rochester, NY

Salary: $182,726.00 per year (base pay). Total compensation includes statutory hiring rate, increased hiring rate, and geographic differential.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive professional dental services, including examinations of teeth and oral structures using x-rays, mouth mirrors, and diagnostic instruments.

Treat dental diseases, injuries, and malfunctions of teeth and gums.

Restore cavities (simple and compound).

Extract single and multiple teeth.

Clean teeth.

Treat infections of teeth, mouth, and gums with appropriate drugs or surgery.

Maintain written records of dental treatments.

Advise individuals about dental health practices.

Additional duties to be discussed during interview.

Minimum Qualifications

Valid New York State license and registration to practice dentistry.

Current registration to practice dentistry in New York State.

Background Investigation Requirements

Criminal background check (CBC) including state and federal criminal history record checks.

Screening against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR).

Additional checks for Division of Juvenile Justice and Opportunities for Youth (DJJOY) prospective appointees against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL).
