Pay Range Base pay range: $187,158.00/yr
Duties Description
Provide professional dental care for youth in the custody of OCFS, diagnosing and treating diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth and gums.
Perform a full range of dental duties, including restorative and preventive measures as required by agency policy.
Conduct examinations using x-rays, mouth mirrors & diagnostic instruments to determine pathological conditions.
Treat dental diseases, injuries, and malfunctions of teeth and gums.
Perform restoration of simple and compound cavities.
Administer anesthetics.
Perform oral surgery commensurate with professional qualifications, including extractions of teeth, scaling calculus, and treatment of infections.
Maintain written records of individuals’ dental treatments.
Advise patients on dental health practices.
Instruct and direct paraprofessional dental staff in auxiliary duties.
Additional duties and travel expectations to be discussed during interview.
Shift Information 8 hour or 10‑hour shifts; between 8 am‑6 pm; up to 2‑3 days a week.
Minimum Qualifications
Title part of NY HELPS program.
Possession of a license and current registration to practice dentistry in New York State.
Must maintain a valid New York State license and registration.
