As part of the Feld Center for Career and Alumni Engagement team, the Industry Relations Manager (IRM) will manage relationships with employers hiring for roles in data analytics, project management, product management, and other business analytics roles. The IRM will conduct new business development to cultivate new employer relationships with companies hiring for these functions to enhance career outcomes for Questrom undergraduate and graduate students. The IRM will expand internship and job opportunities for Questrom students by establishing strong relationships with key employers, recruiters, and alumni, identifying quality internship and career programs, and keeping abreast of employer needs. The IRM will identify and build relationships with target employers with strong internship and full‑time job opportunities that align with Questrom students’ interests and strengths, and will increase opportunities for students to interview with these companies by effectively marketing the Questrot School of Business.
Job Function 1 (70%) – Business Development and Relationship Management
Engage in business development and relationship management activities in support of the school’s strategic priorities for career outcomes
Collaborate with other IRMs to bolster relationships and extend recruiting to data science/analytics roles
Establish relationships with new companies and create opportunities for new roles/relationships within existing employer partners
Improve internship opportunities for undergraduate students, focusing on leadership development and rotational programs with strong opportunities for conversion to full‑time roles
Engage with existing industry partners to maximize opportunities for students through on‑and off‑campus recruiting activities, curricular engagement, and student club activities
Coordinate with the Questrom operations team to ensure recruiting events are well planned and executed, providing the highest level of engagement excellence
Cultivate relationships to maximize opportunities for roles and programs that are highly desirable to undergraduate and graduate students and aligned with the school’s strategic goals
Share information about master’s programs and student populations with employer partners, collaborating with specialty master’s program career services teams to coordinate opportunities for master’s students
Optimize Questrom’s relationship with the business analytics ecosystem to align with student interest
Leverage alumni company liaisons to increase opportunities for students, especially at companies that do not currently consider Questrom a target school
Job Function 2 (20%) – Collaboration with Career Coaches, Faculty, and Staff
Meet regularly with career coaches to share information about employer events, recruiting opportunities, application deadlines, etc.
Work with career coaches to identify students for key opportunities and inclusion in curated resume books
Work with career coaches to connect students with alumni for networking and career development support
Collaborate with UG, MBA, and specialty master’s program faculty to better understand curriculum and share insights on how curriculum can support employer needs
Share information with faculty and program leadership about specific opportunities, events, and application deadlines
Share industry and recruiting insights with faculty and program leadership
Collaborate with Director of Alumni Initiatives on recruiting and career development opportunities
Collaborate with other IRMs for knowledge and resource sharing, shared events, etc.
Collaborate with admissions; Center for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; and program office (MBA Center and UDC) staff on career development activities and initiatives
Job Function 3 (10%) – Direct Student Facing Activities
Work closely with student clubs to create, implement, and support career‑related programming and activities, including key signature treks, conferences, and events
Collaborate with student clubs on opportunities to engage alumni for career development support
Attend student club activities to ensure an institutional connection to alumni engaged with student clubs around careers
Communicate key internship and employment opportunities, application deadlines, and recruiting event information to student club leadership
Hold occasional virtual office hours to reinforce communication about employer and career development events, reiterate timelines and application deadlines, answer industry and company‑specific recruiting questions, and support alumni networking
Required Skills
B.A. or B.S. or equivalent required
5+ years related experience in executive search, corporate relations, development, or major account sales and marketing
Marketing and sales expertise
Familiarity with executive search, college placement, or university development
Demonstrated ability to set and meet targets
Excellent time management
Unquestionably high integrity
Knowledge of employment trends
Excellent written and oral communication
Ability to work well with others
Demonstrated proficiency in developing and sustaining professional networks
Ability to travel throughout the year: a portion of time spent on the road visiting existing recruiters for BU Questrom. Travel will focus on major metropolitan areas; occasional trips may include other parts of the United States and abroad

Skilled in data analysis, experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and related tools (Trello, Slack, Handshake)
