Job Summary The General Surgery unit, otherwise known as CP 15, is a 20‑bed unit with an average daily census of 19. Our patient population is primarily patients following gastrointestinal surgeries (e.g., Whipple, liver resections, colorectal, bariatric, etc.). We are an accredited Center of Excellence for bariatric surgeries. We work closely with our surgical teams to ensure excellent care of all our patients. While most patients are post‑operative, we also occasionally care for medical patients. This busy unit offers opportunities to learn and practice a variety of skills such as ostomies, all types of GI drains, tube feedings, pain‑management pumps, insulin drips, and more. It is an excellent place to receive a solid medical‑surgical foundation, work in a team‑player culture, and grow both personally and professionally.

Responsibilities

The registered nurse provides high‑quality, skilled nursing services and assists patients in achieving optimum health and functional status following hospitalization.

Collaborating with physicians and other health‑care professionals, the RN prepares patients and their families for discharge to home or another setting for continued care.

Job Requirements

Current WA State RN license is required.

1 or more years of recent RN experience with acute‑care patients.

CPR certification required every two years or as specified by the work.

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing.

Please be advised that this location requires quarterly AHA Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post‑hire. This ongoing competency is required through internal resources; outside RQI resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.

Pay Range $47.12 – $79.59 /hour
