3rd Shift – 10:00pm to 6:30am, Monday – Friday Summary

The Histotechnologist 3 (H) works as a laboratory professional preparing tissues from surgical specimens for histology, electron microscopy, and immunohistochemistry. The incumbent accesses data, performs quality control, and maintains laboratory equipment. The role reports to the Department of Pathology and supports clinical patient diagnosis. Core Responsibilities

Prepare tissue specimens for microscopic examination and handle complex tests such as immunohistochemistry. Maintain quality control, review and accept test results, and verify instrument function. Maintain all equipment, place orders for reagents, and manage supply levels. Record sample accessioning, paraffin block, and slide files, following specimen handling procedures. Participate in formulation and revision of departmental policies and procedures. Provide guidance and leadership to employees within the assigned section and recommend improvements. Handle clinical and patient concerns confidentially employing integrity and discretion. Qualifications

Associate’s degree in relevant field. Florida Medical Technologist License – Histotechnologist. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience. Skill in accurate assignments, attention to detail, and prioritization under pressure. Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as required.
