Tax Manager – Financial Services Organization – GCR/Insurance – Manager, Captive Insurance EY invites applications for the Tax Manager role in the Financial Services Organization (FSO). This position focuses on captive insurance tax engagements.

Location: Anywhere in Country

As a manager in the Insurance Tax practice, you will deliver captive insurance tax consulting, tax compliance, feasibility analysis, financial statement audits, and review tax returns while managing client relationships and engagement economics.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the preparation and delivery of captive insurance tax consulting memos and tax opinions.

Develop and execute captive insurance feasibility studies with specific commentary on tax implications.

Perform financial statement audits and review tax returns.

Build and maintain effective client relationships.

Manage staffing, economics of engagements, and analyze engagement results to enhance client service.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of tax experience.

CPA or licensed attorney required.

Strong knowledge of ASC 740 and SSAP 101.

Income‑tax support for audits and experience with insurance companies and C‑corporations.

At least 5 years preparing 1120, 1120 PC, 1120 L, and consolidated group returns; review experience required.

Experience working in OneSource and/or Corptax environments.

Experience with captive insurance companies is a bonus.

Ideal Additional Experience

Knowledge of captive insurance operations.

State and local taxation experience (state return compliance, income‑tax accounting, apportionment fundamentals).

What We Offer EY provides a comprehensive compensation and benefits package, including medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and paid time off. The base salary ranges from $103,600 to $189,900 nationwide, with higher ranges for major metros.
