Position Summary We have a common passion for creative thinking, innovative engineering and outstanding guest service that drives continuous improvement in everything we do. Our pursuit of continuous improvement and Operational Excellence is supported by the Program Management Office (PMO). Related core services provided by our Business Excellence Team are strategic and operational analysis, implementation of Lean methodologies and tools as well as the definition of process and standards. Coaching a team of Process Engineers and leading continuous improvement initiatives, the design, operation, standardization and control of processes is the responsibility of the Lead Process Engineer. Managed and guided by the Program Management, the Lead Process Engineer consults with internal & external stakeholders in various organizations. He/she functions as an in‑house process driver and coach of a matrixed operating department. Define need or problem, gather and analyze data, and advise recommended course of action. Perform process redesign and organization analysis studies to promote efficient and effective development of new generation vessels and current fleet modernization. Assist Program Management with development, implementation and maintenance of Lean methodologies and tools. The Program is aimed to improve business performance across the department portfolio. This role will use advanced planning, workflow methods, risk management and quality management to support the program (& project) objectives. Furthermore, provide expertise and best‑practice implementation with regard to the process improvement discipline.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Lead and coach Process Engineers responsible for Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement initiatives, workshops and projects

Define and lead process development, improvement and standardization across Program and Project Management according to Lean Philosophy

Lead and drive development of Lean methods and tools for customer requirements and critical process features

Lead, organize, moderate and document internal and external program‑related workshops to improve processes, plan and execute projects, and manage changes

Consult with Program and Project Management on alternative solutions to address needs or problems and recommend specific options

Apply analytical techniques to drive process improvements, including quality improvement, cost reduction or revenue enhancement, and improved delivery services

Determine root causes of defects in performance through data analysis, decomposition and process observation

Utilize industrial engineering principles to evaluate work methods and develop recommendations

Lead the implementation of a feedback culture, drive actions, and incorporate feedback into future plans

Monitor strategic and operational KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement

Review department knowledge and identify process benchmarks inside and outside the maritime industry

Collaborate with counterparts in other business areas

Knowledge & Skills

Proven experience in coaching Process Engineers and related professionals

Proven experience in workshop moderation, stakeholder alignment and conducting trainings

Strong emphasis on implementation, achieving measurable results and inspiring managers and employees

Proven experience in leading without authority and change management

Ability to apply methodical and analytical approaches

Advanced analytical and structural skills including exposure to operations research or industrial engineering methodologies such as queuing theory, simulation, and planning

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Excellent organizational and presentation skills

Ability to facilitate groups of stakeholders to arrive at conclusions and recommendations

Ability to lead without influence, implement and manage Change

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Management, Construction Management, or equivalent field

Minimum 7 years of related work experience

Lean Management Green Belt certification preferred

Project management experience (PMP) is a plus

General Knowledge

Working knowledge of Windows‑based PCs

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint; MS Project or equivalent planning tool is a plus

Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate in a multicultural environment with all levels of employees and management

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with multiple projects and priorities

Ability to quickly adapt to changes and pivot as needed

Language Skills

Solid written and verbal English communication skills required

Clear and precise communication at all levels of the organization

Ability to communicate effectively with various departments within the organization, both shipboard and shore side, including management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors

Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, business periodicals, financial reports, legal documents and government regulations
