Our immediate need is for a Water/Wastewater Operations Technician located in

Eastover, South Carolina

to manage daily operations of a wastewater treatment plant and related processes. Candidates will be required to pass pre‑employment screenings and periodic assessments.

Responsibilities

Conduct water sample testing to analyze plant performance and optimize operational efficiency.

Maintain accurate records and logs of all plant activities to ensure thorough documentation.

Calibrate mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment critical to plant operations.

Diagnose and repair electric pumps, drive units, reducers, and valves essential to plant functioning.

Perform jar testing, execute drawdowns on chemical pumps, and maintain chemical injection equipment.

Communicate any malfunctions or issues to minimize downtime.

Apply knowledge of equipment mechanics and scientific principles to troubleshoot and resolve issues proactively.

Monitor water treatment processes, adjusting for TSS, pH, turbidity, ORP, and chemical reactions to improve outcomes.

Prioritize safety by following all procedures, wearing PPE, conducting safety checks, and responding to emergencies.

Use Microsoft Office tools to document operational data, track performance, and maintain accurate logs.

Perform complex preventative maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.

Examine, troubleshoot, replace, and configure complex pressure gauges/transducers and flow meters to detect abnormalities.

Work collaboratively within the team and with customers to ensure smooth daily operations and effective teamwork.

Required Skills and Experience

Pass a drug screen and background check upon hire, at random, and/or upon request.

Work 12‑hour shifts; schedule options include 2/2/3 or 7 on/7 off.

High school diploma or GED and state‑issued wastewater certification.

Five years of prior related water/wastewater experience, including at least three years of field water/wastewater operational experience.

Ability to follow a full range of instructions and execute independently.

Ability to train others on testing processes and fundamental water treatment concepts.

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Effective communication skills to maintain client and internal relationships.

Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Adobe, and other basic office software for documentation and drawing.

Compliance with all safety procedures, protocols, and regulations; wearing PPE, conducting safety checks, responding to emergencies, following chemical protocols, and participating in safety training programs.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

South Carolina Class A Wastewater Certification.

Self‑motivated and reliable.

Experience in water treatment plant operations.

OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

Understanding the differences between AC and DC power and associated hazards.

Capability to troubleshoot and service DC components.

Physical Requirements

Use a workstation with computer/phone.

Lifting up to 50 lbs.

Inspect equipment at job sites or fabrication shops; may involve bending, stooping, walking on ladders or walkways/catwalks, using a safety harness, exposure to elements (cold, heat, wet, dark), and handling mechanical parts.

May be required to be clean‑shaven and fit‑tested for proper respiratory equipment.
