Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering the opportunity to contribute your expertise in managing financial operations and leading a team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, preferably with healthcare experience, but we are open to candidates with exceptional technical accounting skills from other industries. Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Supervise and guide a team of four direct reports, providing mentorship and ensuring productivity.
- Review, reconcile, and maintain the general ledger to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring they align with GAAP and organizational standards.
- Conduct audits of financial statements and provide necessary documentation for external audits.
- Manage account reconciliations and ensure discrepancies are addressed promptly.
- Develop and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
- Maintain compliance with US GAAP regulations and standards in all accounting practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial planning and reporting processes. Requirements - A minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles.
- Proven expertise in month-end close processes and general ledger management.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and US GAAP accounting standards.
- Experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements and conducting audits.
- Demonstrated ability to reconcile accounts and manage journal entries accurately.
- Leadership experience, including managing direct reports and fostering team development.
- Healthcare industry experience is preferred but not required.
- Exceptional technical accounting skills with the ability to work independently and efficiently.
