About the Role
The Director of Merchandise Operations blends strategic leadership with hands‑on management to enhance customer experience, team efficiency, and brand loyalty. Based at our Plano, TX headquarters, you will lead a small team to optimize end‑to‑end order fulfillment. The ideal candidate is a process‑driven, analytical leader with experience driving efficiency, managing large inventories, coordinating with production teams, and using data to improve operations in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Order-to-Fulfillment Operations : Oversee the merchandise lifecycle, from order processing to inventory allocation, production coordination, fulfillment, and delivery. Ensure retailer orders are processed accurately, produced or retrieved from inventory, shipped on time, and invoiced correctly.
Inventory Management : Maintain accurate inventory tracking across the production pipeline through regular cycle counts, ensuring SKUs meet demand.
Supply Chain Coordination : Optimize production schedules and shipping logistics, collaborating with production teams to manage lead times, resolve bottlenecks, and ensure quality and timely delivery of finished goods.
Process Optimization : Streamline workflows and lead system enhancements for scalable, error‑free operations.
Data-Driven Decisions : Build and monitor KPI dashboards to identify issues, drive action, and present data‑backed improvement plans to leadership.
Team Leadership : Coach your team and collaborate with Sales, Accounting, and Production to meet business goals and time‑sensitive objectives.
Communication : Act as the point of contact for any operational issues, keeping staff and retailers informed on order status, delays, and process updates while upholding Sylvie Jewelry’s service‑first reputation.
Qualifications & Skills
5+ years in operations, supply chain, or inventory management , ideally for physical products (e.g., consumer goods, manufacturing, or wholesale distribution).
Proven
experience leading a team , collaborating cross-functionally, and engaging with external partners or customers.
Strong track record in process improvement , efficiency implementation, and attention to detail.
Technical expertise in : (1)
Microsoft Excel : Advanced formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and macros for operational reporting and analysis. (2)
ERP Systems : Experience optimizing ERP systems and adopting new software tools or integrations (e.g., connecting order management with inventory or shipping systems via APIs).
Strong analytical skills
to interpret data, build KPI dashboards, resolve discrepancies, and identify process improvements.
Excellent communication
skills to engage with teams, leadership, and customers with a proactive, service-oriented approach.
Bachelor’s degree
in engineering, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Master’s degree, Project Management certifications, or efficiency certifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) preferred but not required.
