The Department of Internal Medicine is currently seeking a Part-Time Nephrologist to join our team. The Department of Internal Medicine provides specialty services across the continuum of care at JPS. We currently have over 90 providers who work in a variety of different locations including the Main Hospital, Ambulatory Surgery Center, and our Community Medicine Clinics. Our specialties include Cardiology, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Oncology, Palliative Care, Pulmonology, Critical Care, Endocrinology, Infectious Disease, Dermatology and Rheumatology.

Job Summary:

1 or 2 days outpatient clinic

Inpatient coverage (rotating call schedule)

Inpatient Dialysis coverage

EPIC EMR system

In person and Virtual visits

M modal dictation with possible AI enabled scribe in near future

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

Current Medical Doctor (M.D) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree from an accredited school of medicine.

Residency and/or Fellowship training within specialty.

Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:

Texas Medical License

Board Certification or Board Eligible.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must be comfortable working in a large public/county facility

Must be able to demonstrate working knowledge in area assigned, and competency in assessment techniques, diagnosis and treatment processes that apply to the assigned medical specialty area

Must have good interpersonal, verbal and oral communication skills

Must be self‑directed and take initiative to develop and participate in community activities and medical outreach

Must be able to demonstrate patient‑centered/patient valued behavior
