Base pay range: $135,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr
Position Summary Provides evidence-based vision care to ensure patients' health and wellbeing by recommending and prescribing medications and other treatment options such as LASIK surgery, cataract surgery, using evidence-based care guidelines. Delivers routine vision care, educates patients and store associates on eye health including contact lens care, disease state management and safety factors, recommends appropriate patient follow‑up. Consults with other health professionals to prepare and coordinate patient care plans in accordance with optometry scope of practice per state board, provides patients with appropriate referrals as needed, and follows up with patients and other health professionals regarding any outstanding diagnostics, tests or other patient information. evaluates patients' health condition across the full vision center scope of service, performs comprehensive eye examinations, examines eyes using instruments and pharmaceutical agents, determines visual acuity and perception findings, prescribes, fits, and adjusts eyeglasses and contact lenses, orders, interprets, and assesses diagnostic tests (e.g., glaucoma testing, macular degeneration, OCT), provides additional vision treatment (e.g., foreign body removal). Represents the company in vision care and patient engagement by delivering exceptional customer service through all patient interactions, maintaining and updating patient information in vision center systems, assisting vision center staff, ensuring adherence to state, local and federal healthcare regulations and Walmart vision center guidelines, performing administrative and retail tasks such as financial transactions and patient registration, collaborating with internal stakeholders (pharmacists, clinics, store management) and external stakeholders to ensure overall coordinated patient care and high quality customer service. Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives, developing strategies, building support for business plans, managing costs and resources, measuring outcomes, promoting a customer environment, attracting and maintaining a highly skilled workforce, cultivating an environment of integrity and ethics, leveraging partnerships and networks, and driving community outreach.
Qualifications
Doctoral degree in Optometry (OD) from an accredited optometry school.
Licensed optometrist in good standing in the state of practice.

Salary and Benefits Annual salary range: $135,000.00 - $200,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and may include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) based on location.
