Responsibilities Provides evidence-based vision care to ensure patients' health and wellbeing by recommending and prescribing medications and other treatment options (e.g., red eye, LASIK surgery, cataract surgery) using evidence-based care guidelines. Delivers routine vision care and educates patients and store associates on eye health, including contact lens care, disease-state management, and safety factors. Recommends appropriate patient follow‑up and coordinates patient care plans with other health professionals. Monitors and interprets diagnostic tests (e.g., glaucoma testing, macular degeneration, OCT). Offers vision treatment (e.g., foreign‑body removal) and develops treatment plans based on clinical presentation. Represents the company in patient engagement with exceptional customer service. Maintains and updates patient information in vision center systems (e.g., BOSS) accurately and confidentially. Assists vision center staff (e.g., opticians) on best practices, ensures adherence to state, local, and federal regulations, and performs administrative and retail tasks (financial transactions, patient registration, retail transactions). Works with internal stakeholders (pharmacist clinics, store management) and external stakeholders (ophthalmologists, other health professionals) to deliver coordinated and integrated patient care. Supports broader business objectives, analyzes goals, develops strategies, and promotes continuous improvement throughout the vision center.
Qualifications
Doctoral degree in Optometry (OD) from an accredited optometry school.
Licensed optometrist in good standing with the state of practice.
Compensation & Benefits Annual salary range: $135,000.00 – $200,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Certain positions may include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) based on location.
