Pay Rate $17.00 per hour
About Our Operations Team Be part of the dedicated Operations Team at The Salvation Army. Our team serves the local community through the “Do The Most Good” commitment at the San Del Rio Distribution Center, supporting the Adult Rehabilitation Program. This role allows you to work together as a team and utilize your skills in various warehouse activities while contributing to our program’s success.

Qualifications
High school graduate
Valid driver’s license
Must pass TSA driver and safety training series
Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, train, and motivate others
Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and donors
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Working knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
Understanding of safety rules for dock and transportation
Minimum five years of light industrial, transportation, or operations experience
Minimum two years of supervisory experience
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist intermittently or continuously
Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, drawers, carts, rolling clothing racks, furniture dollies, platform trucks and hand trucks
Ability to operate a telephone
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to operate a motor vehicle
Ability to operate a forklift
Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks
Essential Job Duties
Direct training and supervision of drivers/material handlers and beneficiaries in the transportation department
Dispatch trucks daily to ensure on‑time delivery of store products and neat donation sites
Ensure 100% donor pickups for Real Estate for Rehabilitation and corporate pickups
Ensure all trucks, tractors, and trailers meet TSA standards and support production and retail operations
Supervise donation operations: attendant training, location, bin placement, donor relations, and quality donor experience
Review SmartDrive reports each morning, providing coaching or disciplinary action as needed
Plan and conduct weekly transportation team meetings per ARC policies
Review and approve direct‑report timecards, ensuring compliance with wage and hours requirements
Ensure loading and unloading equipment is safe and operable
Maintain safety measures per ARC policy and government regulations
Play a critical role in driving company culture change efforts and change management processes
Be prepared for center reviews and maintain review standards
Other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager
COVID‑19 Safety Measures The Salvation Army will comply with all governmental orders and contractual obligations related to COVID‑19 safety measures, including mandatory vaccination of staff if required. We will consider exemptions based on religious or medical grounds when available.
