Description Evaluates and treats patients referred for speech, language, cognitive, and dysphagia dysfunction.
Responsibilities
Candidate will be responsible for covering the adult inpatient floors
Provide services that evaluate and treat patients for speech, language, cognition, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders
Must be familiar with tracheotomy and ventilator‑dependent patients as well as Passy‑Muir valve evaluations and treatment
Communicate findings and concerns related to patient care to other members of the disciplinary team (MDs, clinical nutrition staff, nursing staff, PAs, radiology staff, etc.)
Perform objective testing (preferred)
Perform Modified Barium Swallow Study / Video Fluoroscopy and FEES (preferred)
Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology required
New York State Speech‑Language Pathology license required
BLS certification required (American Heart Association)
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency and previous experience in acute care or related medical setting required
