Position Overview

Cullum Mechanical is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and assist with month‑end close processes. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and thrives in a fast‑paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile accounts, and maintain general ledger accuracy.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Support job cost tracking and project accounting.
• Prepare financial reports and assist with audits.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
• 2+ years of accounting experience; construction industry experience preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, or similar).
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
