Part Time Childcare Program Manager – Scotch Plains School District
Right At School provides local school districts before and after school extended day programs with a focus on disguised learning activities and daily enrichment dedicated to the success of all students.

Responsibilities
Provide safety & joy standards by guiding staff and ensuring program policies, attendance, behavior, and safety procedures are followed.
Maintain operational efficiency and compliance: keep site documents, licensing standards, attendance protocols, and behavior policies up to date.
Coach and support staff, fostering respectful relationships and addressing challenges proactively.
Report on safety protocols, submit required documentation (e.g., proof of MMR), and ensure 18+ age requirement is met.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 2 years experience working with children, including special needs, or equivalent training.
Coursework or training in child development and/or related field.
Strong communication skills (oral, written, visual) with adults and children.
Ability to model professional standards when dealing with students, parents, staff, and community.
Familiarity with Google technology software or willingness to learn.
New Jersey State Requirements
First Aid and CPR‑in‑person certification.
Cleared tuberculosis test.
Short & Long Term Disability coverage.
Program Capacity Requirements
6‑15 children: High School Diploma or GED + 6 hours child‑care training + 2 years experience.
16‑30 children: High School Diploma or GED + 6 hours child‑care training + 3 years experience; OR NRPA Recreation Technician certificate + 6 hours child‑care training + 1 year experience; OR child‑development related degree + 6 hours child‑care training + 1 year experience; OR non‑child related 15 college credits + 6 hours child‑care training + 2 years experience.
31 or more children: High School Diploma or GED + 6 hours child‑care training + 3 hours child program management; OR NRPA Recreation Technician + 6 hours child‑care training + 3 hours child program management + 2 years experience; OR child‑development related degree + 6 hours child‑care training + 3 hours child program management + 2 years experience; OR 15 college credits (non‑child related) + 6 hours child‑care training + 3 hours child program management + 3 years experience; OR associate or bachelor’s degree + required training + experience as listed.
