Med Surg Nurse - Evening/Night - Faulkner
Site: Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital, Inc. (1133 Centre Street, Jamaica Plain, MA)
Schedule: 36 Hours (8–12 hr shifts), Evening/Night rotation. Every other weekend and holiday rotation.
Job Summary BWFH 6 North is a 36‑bed private unit of general medicine/telemetry and progressive care. It provides services to adults and older adults with complex medical and psychosocial conditions, including acute and chronic diagnoses such as congestive heart failure, diabetes, pneumonia and other clinical conditions. The unit is equipped with telemetry, bed/chair alarms and patient‑transfer equipment. Eight beds are designated for the Addiction Recovery Program (ARP), which serves adults seeking voluntary detoxification admission for alcohol and opiate misuse. Under the direction of the nursing leadership team, care is delivered by direct‑care nurses, in collaboration with medical providers—including mid‑level practitioners (NP/PA).
Qualifications
BSN required.
Massachusetts Registered Nurse licensure required.
Basic Life Support certification required; medical‑surgical/telemetry experience strongly preferred.
Adherence to all I C.A.R.E. standards.
Evidence of basic analytical thinking needed to care for a group of patients.
Demonstrated observational skills and priority setting.
Ability to function under stress with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Effective application of hospital standards in service area, teamwork, communication, respect for others, and time/priority management.
